About Us

Welcome to my website, my name is Edward but some of you may know me by my internet name Rohkova. I cannot tell you what the true meaning of that name is, though I was told once that it was the name of a town in Russia involved somehow in the Napoleonic Wars. I started using the name in high school, when I needed to come up with a name of a character for a fantasy game and it ended up becoming my own artist name when I first started sharing artwork on my old deviantart account. You will find the name Rohkova or Rokoba on my business cards or on my artist’s seal written in Katakana. My art style is partly inspired by Japanese Ukiyo-e, which is why I wanted a seal like an Ukiyo-e artist.

I am a full-time artist and comic creator, but my background is rooted in Art History, especially non-western traditions like East Asian Art and African art. Up until 2021 I was working with art and objects in the Ethnographic Collection of the British Museum, which provided me with a lot of inspiration. I saw and handled many objects I would never have seen before and I’m really grateful for the opportunities I had there, especially when the Manga exhibiton arrived in 2019.

The name of my studio “Dread Lévi”, was born out of another character. You may have seen her in some of my previous works, but she plays a key part in my upcoming series Visions of the Phantomfield. She is a magician scholar from our world who is researching a special kind of magic within a world that exists between life and death. This will be my first big series after the Lost and Found, and is the kind of manga that I have always dreamed of making. I hope people will look forward to reading it when it comes out

Shabbits are my main mascot for this website and also the Visions of the Phantomfield manga. As their name suggests they are a combination of sheep and rabbit and they are one of the cuter denizens of the Phantomfield. You will be learning a lot more about them and their world when the new manga comes out, but I hope to update this website with a guide to these creatures.
